About Us

We’ve Walked the Road—Now We’re Building the Way Forward.

We’ve walked the road of incarceration and reentry ourselves. We know the barriers, the setbacks, and the systems that too often fail people coming home—especially veterans. Our leadership is grounded in lived experience, accountability, and the belief that structure, stability, and opportunity change outcomes. My Brother’s Keeper Housing was built to provide safe, disciplined halfway housing and a real path forward for veterans transitioning from prison back into society.

Founder, MBKH

Christopher Hedgecock

Christopher Hedgecock is the founder of MBKH, an organization born from the intersection of professional success and a profound personal injustice. Prior to his incarceration, Christopher spent 15 years as a successful small business owner, developing deep expertise in leadership, operations, and community engagement. His life took a drastic turn when he served seven years in prison for a crime he did not commit—an experience that revealed the systemic failures facing the justice-involved veteran and others reentering society.

Today, Christopher leverages his unique dual perspective to bridge the gap between incarceration and civilian success. Under his leadership, MBKH provides residents with more than just transitional housing; it offers a path to professional independence through high-level mentorship and career training. Christopher is dedicated to ensuring that every returning citizen has the tools to reclaim their future and build a lasting legacy.

Co-Founder, MBKH

Justin Herron

Justin Herron is the Co-Founder of MBKH, bringing a diverse technical and professional background to the organization’s mission. Before his incarceration, Justin established himself as a licensed real estate agent and a skilled computer programmer, developing a sharp eye for both market dynamics and complex problem-solving. His professional career was paused when he spent 10 years navigating some of the most challenging environments within the state prison system.

Having witnessed the specific obstacles faced by the justice-involved veteran firsthand, Justin is now dedicated to ensuring that others do not have to navigate the reentry process without a roadmap. He leverages his background in technology and real estate to help develop the professional training and mentorship programs at MBKH. Alongside Christopher Hedgecock, Justin works to equip residents with high-demand skills and the professional mindset necessary to secure their own futures and successfully transition back into society.
